Cobalt & the Hired Guns “Of Summer” Video

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.  When life gives you snow, you make snowballs.  When life gives you ThunderSnow, you invite a bunch of people over the next day to shoot a snowball fight / snow frolicking music video!

For those who don’t know, Cobalt & the Hired Guns is the band I played in from it’s origin in 2003 (2002 if you count Tom and I collaborating) until I moved to Seattle this past May. I watched this video with sheer joy this morning, missing them a ton and so proud of them for making this video happen and doing it in the most Cobalt way possible. I’ll be real though, it’s a bit of a trip – almost dream-like – watching Jesse lip-sync to my voice!  I will always love this song with all my heart, and this video makes me love it even more.

  1. That’s a wonderful song you wrote!

    • Hey Rob! Jesse wrote that one actually, I just sang it on the record. Has he been singing it at live shows since I left?

      • Yep, Jesse has been singing it from behind the kit. I’m enjoying the Local Strangers and enjoying Seattle vicariously through your posts. My grandmother lived in the Moore Hotel, and I spend many happy days visiting her over the years.
